DeSantis Campaign Press Release - Ron DeSantis Will Make America Energy Dominant

Ron DeSantis has always been committed to protecting the Everglades and preserving Florida's tourism economy, while accelerating energy exploration and production where and how it makes sense.

Nearly 70 percent of Florida voters supported a state constitutional amendment to limit offshore drilling in 2018, prior to DeSantis taking office as governor. That is the law in Florida based on the will of the voters, and DeSantis has always taken seriously his oath of office to uphold the constitution.

Desperate and dishonest attacks on DeSantis' energy record have already been debunked:

• The Washington Post Fact Checker on Nikki Haley's fracking attack: "Haley's framing is misleading...Haley twice made a statement that was flat wrong" about Ron DeSantis' record.
• Florida's Voice News also fact-checked Haley's false claims, noting: "Haley went on to claim that DeSantis banned the practice of fracking before voters "even voted" on the measure in November 2018. DeSantis was not governor until January 2019."

Nikki Haley is also attacking DeSantis on offshore drilling despite saying in September the decision to do so should be left up to the states.

Ron DeSantis is the only candidate in this race to roll out an energy plan that he will enact as our next president to make America energy dominant.
