Ron DeSantis visits South Carolina for full day of events
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Ron DeSantis returned to South Carolina for a full day of events as a special guest of Never Back Down. The trip builds on his increasing momentum after winning the second primary debate and announcing today he raised $15 million in the third fundraising quarter.
DeSantis started out the morning with a trip to the American Legion Post in Spartanburg County, where he talked about how his time in the Navy will shape his role as Commander-In-Chief.
Then, he held a meet-and-greet in Greenville County with long lines of voters waiting at the door. At the meet and greet, DeSantis blasted the out-of-control spending in DC:
"You've got to get interest rates down. You've got to get inflation down. You do that by stopping spending at these levels, which are ridiculous."
Also at the Greenville meet-and-greet, DeSantis was asked if he would shut down the US Department of Education. "Yes! Let's do it," he answered. He also called out Donald Trump for flip-flopping on getting Mexico to pay for the border wall. "I'm even going to follow through on other people's promises," he said.
Throughout the day, DeSantis had several media hits, including one with WYFF's Peyton Furtado.
"We've got to restore good order and discipline," said Ron DeSantis. "It's got to be mission first, and I think somebody that's been there and understands that as commander-in-chief I think is going to be able to bring that about very quickly."

DeSantis also joined the Tara Show with Tara Servatius, where he said,
"I'll be the first veteran of a war elected since 1988. I could have made a lot of money, I decided to serve the country. That should tell people that I put service above self. I'm a father of three kids. I understand parents' rights, I understand how important it is that education and not indoctrination rules the day in the United States, not just in the state of Florida. And I'm somebody that has a proven record. I'm the only one running that everything I promised I would do, I delivered. In fact, I over delivered on my promises. The time for excuses is over. It doesn't matter what you tweet, it doesn't matter the theatrics, the only thing that matters is are you actually delivering results. We need the results starting in January of 2025. I can serve two consecutive terms like President Reagan did and will be able to reverse the country's decline after those two terms."
Lastly, he joined WHSA and WSPA.
