Department of Defense Nomination of Stanley R. Resor To Be Under Secretary for Policy.

The President today announced that he will nominate Stanley R. Resor, of New Canaan, Conn., to be Under Secretary of Defense for Policy.

Resor was born December 5, 1917, in New York City. He received a B.A. (1939) and LL.B. (1946) from Yale University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946.

Resor practiced law in New York City from 1946 to 1965 and from 1971 to 1973. He served as Under Secretary of the Army in 1965 and as Secretary of the Army from 1965 to 1971. Since 1973 he has been U.S. Representative to the negotiations on Mutual and Balanced Force Reductions being held in Vienna, Austria.
