Advisory: Vice President Kamala Harris to Return to Atlanta, GA for Fifth Stop on Economic Opportunity Tour
On Friday, June 14, Vice President Kamala Harris will return to Atlanta, GA to continue her nationwide Economic Opportunity Tour with a moderated conversation at the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. 38th Annual Conference. This will be the Vice President's fourth visit to the state this year and her 13th since being sworn in.
During each stop of the Vice President's Economic Opportunity Tour, she is highlighting how the Biden-Harris Administration has built economic opportunity, supported communities, and delivered historic investments for the American people. This includes making unprecedented investments in small businesses, creating a record number of jobs, and increasing access to capital for underserved communities. It also includes erasing medical debt, forgiving more student loan debt than any administration in history, boosting investments in education, making housing more affordable, lowering child care costs, and increasing the wealth of American families.
Vice President Harris launched her Economic Opportunity Tour in April and continued it last month with a speech in Detroit, MI and a moderated conversation in Milwaukee, WI. Her fourth stop took place Wednesday in Charlotte, NC.
The Vice President was last in Atlanta in April to launch the Economic Opportunity Tour and highlight a $158 million grant that Atlanta received under the Department of Transportation's Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods Program. This award will fund "The Stitch." In February, she traveled to Savannah for the third stop on her Fight for Reproductive Freedoms tour. Vice President Harris began the year with a trip to Atlanta to convene community leaders who are on the frontlines of protecting voting rights and other hard-fought, hard-won freedoms.
