To the Senate of the United States:

I transmit to the Senate herewith a report ** from the Secretary of State, with accompanying papers, in answer to their resolution of the 11th instant.

**Transmitting correspondence relative to the action of the authorities of Nassau, New Providence, in the imprisonment of slaves charged with mutiny and murder, the refusal to surrender them to the United States consul for that in the United States, and the liberation of slaves, all of said slaves being a part of the cargo of the United States brig Creole.
