Remarks During a Tour of the U.S.-U.A.E. Investment Exhibit and an Exchange With Reporters in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

May 16, 2025

President Trump. I think while the press is here—and it's so impressive, what I'm just hearing—I'd like you to hear it. The investment that they're making into the United States, for a reason—mostly November 5—but I think it's so impressive. I'd love to have you speak.

We have some of the greatest people on Earth in business: ExxonMobil, etc. And they could say a couple of words also, but there's a massive—very big investment, you can see, and I'd love to have them speak so that you could hear it as well as me.

So please go ahead.

Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Ahmad al-Jabir of the United Arab Emirates. So, as you can see on the map, we exist in—through 50 assets in 18 different states. This spans the whole energy value chain, from gas development, production, exploration, distribution, and electrification. LNG terminals, energy infrastructure——

President Trump. That's the money that they're spending—they will be spending in the United States over a period.

Minister Jabir. Well, current investments are $70 billion.

President Trump. Right.

Minister Jabir. We committed $370 billion over the next 10 years, leading to $440 billion by 2055, so we'll have an annual——

President Trump. Four hundred and forty billion dollars.

Minister Jabir. This will have an annual GDP impact of $29 billion U.S. dollars, and it will support 470,000 jobs.

This is what XRG was created for. It's an internationally dedicated investment company focused on the energy value chain. The U.S. has become an absolute imperative when it comes to our investment strategy. We're investing in—across the value chain of gas, specialty chemicals, energy infrastructure, as well as low-carbon solutions.

And here, this is just an example of how great and how well cemented and deeply rooted the existing relationship with the U.S.——

President Trump. ExxonMobil is right here, and——

Minister Jabir. Exxon is investing with us here in the U.A.E., and we're also investing with them in the U.S., Occidental Petroleum, and EOG.

And I'd like to, Mr. President, with your permission, just give——

President Trump. Occidental Petroleum. This is the most powerful woman in the petroleum business. [Laughter] That's what they tell me. I don't know. What do I know?

Minister Jabir. So our partners have committed in new investments worth $60 billion U.S. dollars in upstream oil and gas, as well as new unconventional opportunities.

Please.

ExxonMobil Corp. Senior Vice President Neil A. Chapman. Well, Mr. President, we're obviously the largest—ExxonMobil—the largest investor in oil and gas in the United States. We're also a large investor in the United Arab Emirates. ADNOC is a strategic partner of ours globally.

We look at it as the best of both. Exxon brings the technology and the global experience. ADNOC have a deep, deep capability set. The best of the both is the way we're developing the resources.

President Trump. That's great. Great job you're doing.

Mr. Chapman. Thank you.

President Trump. We appreciate it too.

Mr. Chapman. Thank you.

President Trump. The U.S. appreciates it.

Minister Jabir. With Exxon, Mr. President, we're proud to present you with Murban. This is a drop of the highest quality, lightest crude, highest API, lowest carbon intensity—[inaudible]. This is a drop, and this is what—[inaudible].

President Trump. That's great.

Minister Jabir. [Inaudible]

President Trump. Thank you.

Minister Jabir. [Inaudible]

President Trump. So this is one drop of oil. Now, they think I'm happy with that. This is the highest quality oil there is on the planet, and they only gave me a drop. [Laughter] So I'm not thrilled. But it's still—it's better than no drop. Can you imagine? But anyway, but it's tremendous what you're doing.

Minister Jabir. And this has become a globally recognized benchmark, Mr. President. Murban. It's called Murban.

President Trump. It's going to be great. Yes.

Minister Jabir. Thank you, sir.

President Trump. I know that very well.

Minister Jabir. Thank you, sir. Thank you.

President Trump. Everybody knows that.

Mr. Chapman. Mr. President, thank you.

President Trump. Exxon, thank you very much.

Mr. Chapman. Really appreciate it. Thank you.

President Trump. Thank you very much. Congratulations.

Mr. Chapman. Thank you.

President Trump. Thank you very much.

EOG Resources, Inc., Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer Ezra Y. Yacob. Mr. President.

President Trump. Do you want to say who you are?

Mr. Yacob. Yes. Ezra Yacob, representing EOG resources. We're excited to get a concession, first of its kind, for unconventional oil resources here in Abu Dhabi, partnering with ADNOC, leading energy company in the world. And we're very excited to be here. We appreciate the opportunity. And—and just excited to be a first-of-its-kind concession to develop unconventional resources here in Abu Dhabi in the U.A.E.

I think it will be a—the beginning of a long-term strategic partnership for both companies.

President Trump. Very good.

Mr. Yacob. Thank you very much.

President Trump. Thank you very much for the investment too.

Occidental Petroleum President and Chief Executive Officer Vicki Hollub. I'm Vicki Hollub with Occidental Petroleum, and we've been here 25 years. And together with ADNOC, we took on one of the most difficult projects here in the U.A.E., and that was to build the largest ultra-sour gas processing plant in the world, in the middle of the desert, where it took 43,000 people at the peak of construction. We had to build a small city for that, and we built it on time and on budget because of the strength of the ADNOC technical capabilities, along with ours.

But now we're going to take that technical expertise, and we're going to expand that plant from the one BCF a day that it is—that it was. We've already expanded it to 1.4. And now we're going to take it up to 1.8 times that. So that technology is going well for us, and we've been highly successful with it.

The next technology that we'll partner with ADNOC on is in the United States. It's our direct air capture facility that will take CO2 out of the atmosphere and use that CO2 in our oil reservoirs to enhance our production and extend the energy independence of the United States.

President Trump. And the profits all go to the United States. And also, the firms used to do the building—most of them, a lot of them—and the equipment purchased is made in the United States. So it's been an amazing relationship.

And we have a few others that we're going to show you also, but this has been great. Congratulations.

Minister Jabir. Thank you, Mr. President.

President Trump. It's a great job.

Scott, do you have anything to say? And Howard?

Secretary of the Treasury Scott K.H. Bessent. Sir, this has been an incredible trip in terms of bringing foreign direct investment into the U.S. and solidifying our position the—with our partners. And the—seeing you with these leaders over the past 3 days has been an incredible experience, and it's going to enhance the partnership and grow the U.S. economy. So peace and prosperity.

President Trump. But I only got one drop, right? [Laughter] One drop.

Mr. Chapman. But it's high quality, sir.

Secretary Bessent. We're working on a barrel.

Minister Jabir. We'll send you a barrel. We'll send you a barrel. We'll send you a barrel.

President Trump. Howard.

Secretary of Commerce Howard W. Lutnick. So the industrial—the AI industrial revolution is coming to the world, and it needs power. And so our focus is going to be to dramatically increase the power of production in America. We're going to bring our partners with us. We're going to do it together, and we're going to try to double the power capacity of the United States of America under your leadership.

So this is incredibly exciting.

President Trump. Well, you saw what was presented last night, and there's nothing like that anywhere in the world, and the United States is the big beneficiary. And now they're also moving into many sites like what you saw last night, and actually—it will actually even be bigger. And we have many of those already committed and going forward. Some of them have already started, and we've gotten their permits in record time. Otherwise, it would be years and years waiting. Their permits are already gotten.

In fact, a couple of them that you know very well, the biggest in the business, said, "We can't believe it. We have the permit to build an electric plant, and we got it in very short order." So it's really been amazing. And we're going to go through a list of a couple of different groups, and you're going to see some incredible investment going back into the U.S.

Ms. Hollub. Thank you, President Trump.

President Trump. Great job.

Minister Jabir. Thank you, Mr. President.

[At this point, President Trump moved to the next exhibit, greeted participants, and posed for photographs. He then continued his remarks as follows.]

President Trump. So this is very interesting on health care. And if you could take it away.

G42 Group Chief Executive Officer Peng Xiao. Yes, sir. To pick up on my colleague, Dr. Sultan, just now about the energy——

President Trump. Yes.

Mr. Xiao. ——in the U.A.E., we changed the formula of Einstein of "E = mc2" to "E = I." Energy equals to intelligence.

And last night, you unveiled an amazing project: the largest intelligence battery to be built outside the United States.

President Trump. Right.

Mr. Xiao. And we believe the best use case of intelligence AI is in health care. As much as we follow our colleague Elon Musk going to the outer space, we believe the inner space of humanity need to be better explored, and that's why health care is so critical.

If you'll allow me, Mr. President, here is a brief overview of what we're doing today in Abu Dhabi already. Together with our U.S. partners, building one of the most intelligent health care systems in the world. Intelligent means it's low cost and high quality, equal access for all.

We have linked all the hospitals and ecosystem of health care, including providers, patients, and payers, in a single network. So all the data is in one single place. No more paperwork everywhere to be filled out wherever you go.

We already are applying AI from medical imaging to doctor education across all hospitals here in the U.A.E. And 4.5 billion dollar—numbers of clinical and insurance records are consolidated.

Most importantly, we have the largest genomic program in the world, bigger than—[inaudible]. Almost 1 million people have been sequenced.

President Trump. So this is going to make a tremendous difference on health. You're just going to find out what's wrong with somebody a lot quicker.

Mr. Xiao. A hundred percent, sir.

President Trump. That's great.

Mr. Xiao. You know, when you invent the large language model, it unlocked the secret of human thinking and communications. Now we will build a large biology model, because our biology has a different language than English or Russian or any other language.

This is a new AI platform—[inaudible]—with our American partners.

President Trump. Well, I was just going to introduce—Cleveland Clinic is here.

Mr. Xiao. Yes.

President Trump. And the gentleman from Oracle, representing Larry Ellison and the group, who's a friend of mine. Larry is a great—he's a great guy. A great man, actually.

And you have the best partners. And again, they're working here. They're U.S. companies, and it's all ultimately coming back to the U.S., and they'll be doing even bigger versions of this. This is a real pioneering thing, and so many good things are going to come out of AI.

But most of you haven't seen yet, but the number of plants being built in the United States is at a level that nobody can even imagine. And the big ones, right? They're really big.

Mr. Xiao. Absolutely, sir.

President Trump. And what we showed last night was fantastic. That was great. Great honor.

Mr. Xiao. Thank you for the support. Thank you for the support.

President Trump. With a great leader in this country.

Mr. Xiao. Wonderful.

President Trump. So go ahead. Would you like to say something?

Cleveland Clinic Chief Executive Officer and President Tomislav Mihaljevic. Yes. Tom Mihaljevic from Cleveland Clinic. Mr. President, I would like to share with you what we've accomplished together here in the United Arab Emirates.

President Trump. Good.

Mr. Mihaljevic. What you can see here, since 2008, there was just this small island in the desert. In 2025, this is the Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi. Both——

President Trump. That's some——

Mr. Mihaljevic. It is something.

President Trump. That's some difference, isn't it?

Mr. Mihaljevic. Yes. Four-million-square-foot facility——

President Trump. Wow.

Mr. Mihaljevic. ——that has transformed health care in this part of the world.

So, now, 10 years since the opening, it has become the best hospital here in the region. And people from the region, from all over the place, come here to experience the best of U.S. health care that is available here in the United Arab Emirates.

President Trump. And AI is going to really take it over, right?

Mr. Mihaljevic. And AI is going to enter into the new era when this is going to get even better, scalable, and then available to people in the United States, as well as here in the U.A.E. and, ultimately, all over the world. And that's why the collaboration with Oracle is so important.

President Trump. Two great U.S. companies benefiting, and it comes back to our country. And they're doing things like this and even at a bigger level.

Go ahead, please.

Oracle Industries President Mike Sicilia. Yes. Yes. Thank you very much. It's a tremendous honor to partner with the Cleveland Clinic and G42.

This AI platform that we're rolling out in the United States and in Abu Dhabi here at the Cleveland Clinic is not just about making it a little bit better. It's about making things dramatically better, reinventing health care, reinventing the technology around health care, and bending the cost curve down when people get sick by knowing what's wrong with them far more quickly and then, perhaps even more importantly, keeping them from getting sick in the first place.

And the answer is in aggregating all this data. And, again, we're just honored. And thank you, Mr. President, for all the support to make this—to make this possible.

President Trump. I'm just thinking we have a President of the United States doing the selling. [Laughter] Do you think Biden would be doing it? I don't think so. [Laughter]

But it's so important. I think I have to be a cheerleader for our country. That's why our country is doing so well, and it's people like this that make it work. And we appreciate it.

Great job at Cleveland Clinic.

Mr. Mihaljevic. Thank you, sir.

President Trump. And say hello to Larry.

Mr. Sicilia. I will.

Mr. Mihaljevic. Thank you, sir.

President Trump. And now we'll take a look at aviation.

[President Trump moved to the next exhibit and greeted participants.]

Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport Chairman Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa. [Inaudible]—has been serving the United States since 2006. And we are glad to announce that we have reached an agreement of over $24 billion worth of products and services that have come into the U.S.A. with our partners like Boeing, RTX, and other world-class partners from the U.S.A.

One of the most important things that this is going to—[inaudible]—is more than $60 billion worth of GDP and create jobs of over 12,000 jobs in the U.S.A.

President Trump. Wow. That's right.

Chairman Al Shorafa. And we—[inaudible]—with this relationship. It's been an impressive relationship with HUD and Boeing and GE.

And, Mr. President, we are also doubling our capacity and our fleet with Boeing from 57 to nearly 100 aircrafts.

President Trump. Yes. Yes.

Chairman Al Shorafa. And we just reached a deal also with Boeing so far on just an incredible relationship.

Maybe you want to say just a few words, Stephanie?

Boeing Co. President and Chief Executive Officer for Commercial Airplanes Stephanie Pope. Well, as you know, Mr. President, the growth in this region is incredible, and our strategic partnership with Etihad, as well as with Emirates and Flydubai, is incredibly important to us.

We appreciate your support and leadership. We look forward to basically supporting them in doubling their fleet over the next several years, both in terms of maintenance and new airplanes.

President Trump. That's great. Kelly is doing good.

Ms. Pope. Yes, he is.

President Trump. Kelly has been here for a couple of days, I understand. [Laughter] It's very good.

Please.

Chairman Al Shorafa. Mr. President, the—our backbone aircraft is actually Boeing at Etihad Airways. [Inaudible]

President Trump. It's the best.

Chairman Al Shorafa. It is, Mr. President. And it tells you a lot about the relationship that we have with the U.S. companies. And our CEO also wants——

President Trump. You buy mostly Boeings, right?

Chairman Al Shorafa. Yes, sir.

President Trump. Completely Boeings?

Chairman Al Shorafa. The backbone, over 70 percent are Boeing.

President Trump. It's just my opinion, but Boeing makes the best plane. And they've had some headaches over the last few years, but they make the best plane. And you see what's happening. And it's not the only case, but a lot of people are ordering the Boeing jets, and they're gearing up. And I think it's going to be one of the great—really, one of the great stories.

Chairman Al Shorafa. Yes.

President Trump. And the General Electric engine is phenomenal with the——

Chairman Al Shorafa. We've been having——

President Trump. ——the big body General Electric engine is phenomenal. So it's great to see. Thank you.

Chairman Al Shorafa. We're very proud——

President Trump. So you focus on Boeing, then, the——

Chairman Al Shorafa. Yes, sir.

President Trump. Wow.

Chairman Al Shorafa. And the——

Etihad Aviation Group Chief Executive Officer Antonoaldo Neves. And with the GE engine, we burn 20-percent less fuel, which is really, really important in terms of efficiency and emissions.

President Trump. I heard—no, it's a hot engine. It's a—that's——

Mr. Neves. So it's a very hot engine.

President Trump. That's the hottest engine. That's great. Twenty-percent less fuel, that sounds good.

Mr. Neves. Mr. President, we——

President Trump. How many engines will they be buying, then, ultimately?

Mr. Neves. About a hundred.

President Trump. A hundred engines.

Mr. Neves. Altogether, about a hundred.

President Trump. The big ones?

Mr. Neves. Yes, the big ones.

President Trump. And those—are they the biggest engines at this point?

Mr. Neves. The 777x, yes.

President Trump. That's the biggest one?

Mr. Neves. The biggest——

President Trump. That's the one we're hearing about.

Mr. Neves. Yes. And it's an amazing plane. We're really excited to——

President Trump. They had a breakthrough—GE—on engines, and their big engine is—is the hottest engine there is. It's through the roof.

And General Electric, you talk about a comeback. General Electric has made one of the great comebacks, and it's both in health care and other things. But on your engine, I think that's really maybe the greatest story of them all.

They come out—they came out with a way to make a better engine with 20 percent less fuel. And it's—that's a tough combination.

So congratulations. That's——

Mr. Neves. Thank you.

President Trump. I was with Larry yesterday, and he's done a fantastic job.

Mr. Neves. And great customer service——

President Trump. Yes.

Mr. Neves. ——which is very important for engines.

President Trump. Yes. That's true.

Mr. Neves. So it's not only selling the engine——

President Trump. That's true.

Mr. Neves. ——but it's keeping the engines running. So, extremely important.

President Trump. Yes. Well, you can be proud of yourselves.

So a tremendous investment being made in the United States by this group and this airline. And they don't need financing, that's the nice part. [Laughter] You know, a lot of them say, "Subject to financing." They don't say subject to financing. They have no problem. [Laughter]

So thank you very much. What a great honor.

Chairman Al Shorafa. Mr. President, we're also announcing today our first flight to Charlotte.

President Trump. Oh, good.

Mr. Neves. North Carolina.

Chairman Al Shorafa. Today. North Carolina.

President Trump. That's a good place.

Chairman Al Shorafa. Yes.

Mr. Neves. It's the first airline in the Middle East which will fly to Charlotte, North Carolina, so——

President Trump. Well, they have the PGA Championship going on there right now, so——

Mr. Neves. Yes. So today we—[inaudible].

President Trump. ——you can hurry up, and you'll get some people.

Chairman Al Shorafa. Absolutely. Absolutely.

And also, Mr. President, U.A.E. has and is the only first—[inaudible]—facility in Asia and Middle East.

President Trump. That's good.

Chairman Al Shorafa. And so far, we've been passing through preclearance over 1 million passengers.

President Trump. A lot of other people are looking for that, you know.

Chairman Al Shorafa. Yes, sir. We're very proud to have this relationship with the U.S.A., and it really added a lot of value to——

President Trump. That's great.

Chairman Al Shorafa. ——to our airline.

And finally, Mr. President, we just signed also the naming rights of the New York City Football Club by Etihad.

President Trump. Oh, good.

Chairman Al Shorafa. And we are spending over $800 million——

President Trump. So where is that located?

Mr. Neves. It's in Queens.

President Trump. Okay. I know the area well.

Mr. Neves. Yes.

President Trump. I——

Mubadala Investment Co. Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak. It's right next to Citi Field.

President Trump. I grew up in Queens. I know the area very well.

Managing Director Al Mubarak. Right next to Citi Field.

President Trump. Oh, that's great. Wow. That's where they used to fix the cars, and a lot of other things got fixed there. [Laughter] A lot of things. That's a great site.

So how many people will that hold?

Chairman Al Shorafa. Twenty-five thousand.

President Trump. That's good.

Managing Director Al Mubarak. Twenty-five thousand, yes.

President Trump. And is that primarily for soccer?

Managing Director Al Mubarak. It's for soccer. And yes, they'll do concerts there. They'll do——

President Trump. Will they be using that in the Olympics?

Managing Director Al Mubarak. It will be available to be used, if they choose.

President Trump. Yes, because it's prime, you know, for the Summer games.

Managing Director Al Mubarak. I mean, Queens, you know——

President Trump. It's going out to the—[inaudible]—but it's prime.

Managing Director Al Mubarak. It'll be a state-of-the-art stadium, you can see.

President Trump. Yes. We have the World Cup coming.

Managing Director Al Shorafa. Absolutely.

President Trump. And we have World Cup coming, and we have the Olympics coming over the next couple of years. That's great.

Managing Director Al Mubarak. We have another——

President Trump. You're going to great with this.

Chairman Al Shorafa. Thank you. Thank you so much.

President Trump. I know this location. See? You were born here. I was born there. [Laughter] You picked a good location.

Chairman Al Shorafa. Thank you. Thank you.

[President Trump moved to the next exhibit and greeted participants.]

President Trump. Here's a big, very special project.

Please, go ahead.

EGA Chairman Homaid Al Shimmari. [Inaudible]

President Trump. Investing $4 billion in Oklahoma, Doug [Doug Mills, New York Times]. So, if you want to move after you're finished with the camera stuff, you can get a part-time job—[inaudible].

Q. I'm on my way. [Laughter]

President Trump. I don't think you're going to be giving up the camera.

Go ahead.

Mr. Al Shimmari. [Inaudible]

President Trump. That's great. Wow.

Mr. Al Shimmari. [Inaudible]

President Trump. So what percentage would it be of the market in the U.S.?

Mr. Al Shimmari. [Inaudible]

President Trump. That's good.

Mr. Al Shimmari. [Inaudible]

President Trump. So how much will you be spending in the U.S. to make your plants bigger and add the new plant?

Mr. Al Shimmari. [Inaudible]

President Trump. Right. No. But the expansion?

Mr. Al Shimmari. [Inaudible]

President Trump. See, they're doing all of this work in the U.S. with the aluminum. They do a lot of aluminum here, but if they do it here, they have to pay a big tariff to send it in. So you know what they're doing? They're building a big plant in the U.S. There's no tariff.

Mr. Al Shimmari. We are exporting 700,000 tons. Now we're going to make it in the U.S.

President Trump. No, that's——

Mr. Al Shimmari. [Inaudible]

President Trump. You're going to make it in the U.S. now, so it's amazing.

Mr. Al Shimmari. [Inaudible]

President Trump. You know the sad part? Whoever is next President—let's just say "whoever"—whoever is the next President is going to say what a great job they did. [Laughter] "Look, I built all these plants. I built all these factories."

Managing Director Al Mubarak. You're going to finish it fast.

Mr. Al Shimmari. Yes, sir.

President Trump. "Look at that." No, can you imagine? I'll be sitting home, who the hell knows where I'll be, and I'll say, "I did that," and everyone will say, "Eh." But somebody's going to be cutting a ribbon and it's—well, we're going to be finished long before though. But somebody's going to be taking the credit for this. You remember, press. [Laughter] This guy did it.

Go ahead.

Managing Director Al Mubarak. Mr. President, with your leadership, you're going to get us—[inaudible]——

President Trump. It's true, right?

Secretary Bessent. Of course.

Managing Director Al Mubarak. We're going to go fast. Get us across the line.

President Trump. Go fast—they're going to go fast. [Laughter]

Mr. Al Shimmari. So, Governor Stitt said—of Oklahoma said that this is the upstream of aluminum, Mr. President.

President Trump. Yes.

Mr. Al Shimmari. We're going to have all of the business——

President Trump. So it's high end—this is all high-end aluminum.

Managing Director Al Mubarak. This is premium aluminum.

Mr. Al Shimmari. Premium aluminum, but all——

President Trump. And how do you define "premium aluminum"?

Mr. Al Shimmari. It is the 99.99 percent of purity——

President Trump. I see.

Mr. Al Shimmari. ——of aluminum. And what we're talking about, this is—the top of the supply chain. Now all of these companies, thousands of jobs can come into health care, into construction——

President Trump. Yes.

Mr. Al Shimmari. ——automobiles——

President Trump. Yes.

Mr. Al Shimmari. ——aerospace.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Around it.

Mr. Al Shimmari. All of that is going to be built around this.

President Trump. Where do they use premium aluminum? What kind of a—like—

Managing Director Al Mubarak. Industries.

President Trump. ——for cars?

Mr. Al Shimmari. Engines, aircraft parts.

President Trump. Engines.

Mr. Al Shimmari. Space crafts, medical equipment. All of that requires, Mr. President.

President Trump. That's fantastic.

Mr. Al Shimmari. And that's—we're at the end of it, and I will pass on to Chris——

President Trump. Please.

Mr. Al Shimmari. ——to talk about gallium.

RTX Raytheon Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Christopher T. Calio. Well, the reason RTX, sir, as a defense contractor, is interested in this because one of the byproducts of aluminum production is a critical metal called gallium. And gallium is incredibly important to our defense products, like the Patriot, for instance, because it helps——

President Trump. You do the Patriot?

Mr. Calio. Yes, sir.

President Trump. The Patriot missile here.

Go ahead.

Mr. Calio. And so, for the range that's required, for the search area that's required, you need gallium in order to do that. And so what this does, sir, is it is surety of supply, because this is done in very few places in the world, and we need to make sure that it is plentiful and available to us in the U.S.

President Trump. How much aluminum is used in the Patriot missile?

Mr. Calio. It's gallium, sir, that's the important part, and gallium comes from the production of aluminum.

President Trump. Of aluminum?

Mr. Calio. And then, of course, we use aluminum in our aerospace products, as well, our engines and other things.

President Trump. Right.

Mr. Calio. So very important all around, but gallium, in particular, to the incredible defense systems.

President Trump. How do you define gallium? How do you define it? Gallium—most people don't know.

Mr. Al Shimmari. Rare earth metal.

Mr. Calio. Yes, it's a rare earth.

President Trump. A rare earth metal?

Mr. Al Shimmari. Yes. Seventy-five percent of capacity comes out of China, and it's all over the world—all of these electronics. And it replaces mercury in most of these equipments, Mr. President.

President Trump. It can can—it can come from many locations, I would imagine, right?

Mr. Calio. It can, but today—today, to the point, China has a lot of it.

President Trump. Yes. Okay, that's all right.

Mr. Calio. And so we need to make sure we continue to have access to it for our defense systems.

Mr. Al Shimmari. So we get bauxite from mines, Mr. President. We put it in our refineries. We produce aluminum to go into the smelter. That byproduct comes out of this.

Secretary Lutnick. A little bit comes out.

Mr. Al Shimmari. So it comes——

President Trump. When will you be finished with this?

Mr. Al Shimmari. This, probably in another couple of years. We've already started——

President Trump. Two years?

Mr. Al Shimmari. And we're going to produce—[inaudible]—the hope is, most of that will go to the U.S.

President Trump. We'll go for a ribbon cutting.

Mr. Calio. And the incredible high-powered radars that we use to protect this country——

President Trump. Yes. Yes.

Mr. Calio. ——and our allies, gallium will be critical.

President Trump. That's great. You have to find other locations.

Mr. Calio. Absolutely.

President Trump. You do have to find other locations.

Mr. Calio. Yes.

Managing Director Al Mubarak. Mr. President, Tulsa, with the Governor, we'll need you to break ground over there.

President Trump. Yes, that's great. It's a great place.

So I won Oklahoma—they have 77 counties, and I won all 77, three times in a row. Second was Ronald Reagan. He won 56 of the 77. I won all 77. So you'd better behave. Otherwise——

Mr. Al Shimmari. I will—I will——

President Trump. ——I'll tell the people not to buy your aluminum. [Laughter]

No, it's a great company, great everything. But you see the big investment that's being made in building a massive plant, expanding and building a massive aluminum plant in Oklahoma.

I love Oklahoma. That's something, right? Seventy-seven out of seventy-seven, all three times.

Mr. Calio. Incredible.

President Trump. So, great. Thank you, everybody. Thank you.

We have one more.

Mr. Calio. Thank you, sir.

President Trump. Thank you. Great job.

[President Trump moved to the next exhibit and greeted participants.]

Department of Culture and Tourism Chairman Mohamed Al Mubarak. It's an honor, sir.

President Trump. Nice to see you.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Thank you, sir.

So, sir, today we're going to discuss the power of collaboration with the great American institutions that brought entertainment and culture to the world—the power of partnership, Mr. President, between the United States of America and the United Arab Emirates.

It starts off: Our culture drives our aspirations and ambitions, harnesses our heritage to shape the future across cultures.

Saadiyat Cultural District is a district that celebrates global culture. It is one of the greatest concentrations of cultural institutions. It consists, Mr. President, of the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Zayed National Museum, the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, teamLab Phenomena——

President Trump. Oh, boy.

Chairman Al Mubarak. ——and the Abrahamic Family House.

President Trump. That is fantastic. That is fantastic.

Managing Director Al Mubarak. And you'll get to see that shortly.

President Trump. Good. Whoa.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Mr. President, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, the largest Guggenheim to date. If we take the Guggenheim in New York, Mr. President, it fits in one gallery in the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.

President Trump. So this is the Guggenheim, the largest one, by far. And the famous Guggenheim in New York can fit in one gallery.

And they have—how many galleries do you have? A lot, right?

Chairman Al Mubarak. Twenty-eight galleries.

President Trump. Twenty-eight. They have 28. It fits in one. Wow.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Mr. President——

President Trump. Who's the architect of this?

Chairman Al Mubarak. Designed by the great Frank Gehry.

President Trump. Oh. Did he do the whole job?

Chairman Al Mubarak. Yes, sir.

President Trump. He did all the building?

Chairman Al Mubarak. Yes, sir.

President Trump. Frank Gehry is the architect.

Managing Director Al Mubarak. No, just this building.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Just the Guggenheim.

Managing Director Al Mubarak. Just the Guggenheim.

President Trump. Beautiful.

Chairman Al Mubarak. And, Mr. President, construction will be completed by the end of this year.

President Trump. Good.

Chairman Al Mubarak. And we're going to be opening early next year.

President Trump. Good. That's great.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Mr. President, we have a global collection which includes some of the best American artists. As you can see, the Gilbert Stuart portrait of George Washington——

President Trump. Yes.

Chairman Al Mubarak. ——resides today at the Louvre Abu Dhabi. It's a phenomenal portrait. And we also have great contemporary artists.

President Trump. I've been looking for that painting for the Oval Office.

Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates. He has it. [Laughter]

President Trump. I'll bet you'd let me have it for a little while.

Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed. Yes, sir.

President Trump. I know him very well. [Laughter] One word, he'll let me have—I'll bet if I sent for it, you'll give it me, huh?

Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed. To our friend, not a problem.

President Trump. Okay. Go ahead.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Mr. President, Abu Dhabi is the—[inaudible]—of music, and it's been instilled by UNESCO. We have great American partners with us here. We have Berklee School of Music, and it's helped institutionalize music with our educational programs.

We just hosted an Abu Dhabi International Jazz Day with Herbie Hancock. And of course, we're partnering with the Grammys, the Recording Academy, for the MENA region.

President Trump. Wow.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Mr. President, Abu Dhabi is the home of entertainment, and to be a home of entertainment, we are partnered with some of the best U.S. partners here.

Warner Brothers Abu Dhabi opened its door in 2021. At the time, it was the world's largest indoor theme park. We also opened the first Warner Brothers hotel in Abu Dhabi with great IPs like DC, the Jetsons, Flintstones, Looney Tunes, and Tom and Jerry, and others to come. We've started construction this summer of the first Harry Potter–themed land. It's going to be a marvelous place, also indoor.

We also opened, Mr. President, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi here in Abu Dhabi, and now has become the world's largest indoor marine life theme park in the world. And of course, working with our good friends from SeaWorld, we've opened the first research and rescue center, first of its kind in the region.

And now, Mr. President, is where the magic happens. We just signed a phenomenal deal with——

President Trump. That's right.

Chairman Al Mubarak. ——with our partners.

President Trump. I just read about it.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Yes, sir.

President Trump. That's great.

Chairman Al Mubarak. This will bring the magic of Disney to the region and beyond. This is going to be the most technologically advanced park ever built, and it's going to bring the whole new world of imagination to the region.

Of course, Mr. President, we love sports, and sport entertains the world. We've also partnered with some of the best American institutions to bring that to the world.

Of course, Formula One, it happens every single year in December here in Abu Dhabi. It's the last race. And it brings thousands of visitors from around the world to enjoy the race.

President Trump. So that will move to this area?

Chairman Al Mubarak. It's currently on Yas Island.

President Trump. I see.

Chairman Al Mubarak. It's an island of entertainment that hosts theme parks and many of our sporting events.

President Trump. Boy, that a great way to do it.

Go ahead.

Managing Director Al Mubarak. That first image, Mr. President, with the golf course, that's already built. That's already operational.

President Trump. That's great, yes.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Yes, sir. I know you're a fan of the golf courses.

President Trump. Yes.

Chairman Al Mubarak. The golf course is designed by an American golf architect, Kyle Phillips.

President Trump. Oh, yes.

Chairman Al Mubarak. And it's one of the top 50 golf courses around the world.

President Trump. He's good.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Of course, Mr. President, the UFC are our great partners, and everything we do, Mr. President, is about long-term partnerships. We have hosted this partnership since 2010, and we've extended it until 2029.

President Trump. Good.

Chairman Al Mubarak. We host several fights here in Abu Dhabi. We host a fight night, and we have the championship fight every October. We're also working currently, Mr. President, to have a center of excellence with the UFC here in Abu Dhabi.

Managing Director Al Mubarak. Also, we've been an investors in the UFC, Mr. President, since 2010.

President Trump. And there's nobody better than Dana White.

Managing Director Al Mubarak. We made a lot of money with him.

Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed. He's a good friend of ours.

President Trump. That's good. He's a great guy.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Mr. President, jiujitsu is our national sport, and we export jiujitsu to all over the world, and predominantly one of our biggest partners is the U.S., where we host several championships throughout U.S. cities. Last year, we hosted the world jiujitsu championships in Dallas. That's a partnership we want to grow. There's 40 events launched in 20- —since 2009.

President Trump. Wow.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Mr. President, sports—again, we have a fantastic relationship with the National Basketball Association, where we host exhibition games every year here in Abu Dhabi. Thousands of fans from around the world experience this fantastic sport. Since we've partnered with the NBA, there has been a 50-percent increase in regional participation between young boys and young women.

President Trump. Wow.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Also, Mr. President, we do sponsorship deals with the Boston Celtics, the New York Knicks, and Madison Square Garden.

Of course, you can't go to Yas Island without being a home of entertainment. Last year, we had 111 events, 1.6 million attendees—musical events from all over the world, predominantly from amazing musical artists coming from the United States of America.

And of course, to host them moving forward, we're going to host them in the Sphere Abu Dhabi, similar to the one that's in Vegas——

President Trump. Right.

Chairman Al Mubarak. ——but this is the 2.0 version.

President Trump. Similar size?

Chairman Al Mubarak. Yes, sir.

President Trump. Very good.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Twenty-two thousand.

President Trump. It's a good one, yes.

Chairman Al Mubarak. And this right here——

President Trump. It's bigger, I think.

Chairman Al Mubarak. This will be slightly bigger, and the technology will be slightly enhanced, Mr. President.

Thank you. Mr. President.

President Trump. Thank you very much.

That's amazing. These are all American companies. They're doing very well here. We work together. So it's not only the investment coming in by the hundreds of billions into our country, like you see in Oklahoma, like you see all over many of the jobs with Exxon and Boeing and so many great companies, but we work together, and the money that's made here comes back to us. And many of the contractors, I would imagine, come even for this.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Yes, sir.

President Trump. They come from here.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Architects.

President Trump. Plus a lot of the entertainment itself comes here.

Chairman Al Mubarak. Yes, sir.

President Trump. So it's a—it's an incredible thing.

Now, here's the good news. I've been doing this for 4 days. I leave now and get onto a 42-year-old Boeing. But new ones are coming. New ones are coming.

And it's been an incredible—actually, an incredible 4 days. It's—I want to thank your family. Your family is so unbelievable, the job they've done.

Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed. Thank you, sir.

President Trump. And your father has been really incredible. The job they've done here is incredible, and we've made it work.

And you know, they were being wooed by others, but there's no more wooing. I think we're in pretty good shape.

Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed. Absolutely.

President Trump. There's no more wooing. I've been friends with these leaders—the three leaders, in particular, that we saw over the last 3, 4 days, 5 days. And they're great people. They're great people, and they love our country, and we love them.

So it's been a tremendous time, and now it's time to go back home. My daughter had a baby. I'm going to go back home and see that little baby. And then we get back to a lot of work.

We'll see what happens with Russia and Ukraine. I think it's something that's—it's just—we got to stop the killing. Five thousand people a week. Five thousand young people a week, on average, being killed in a war that is going nowhere. It's a shame. Should have never happened.

But we have other things to do also. Plus, we have an Iran situation, which we're going to take care of. One way or the other, we're taking care of it. It will be taken care of 100 percent. It will be done nicely or not nicely—and the "not nicely" is not a good thing for them. And I think—we're talking to them, and they're—I think they've come a long way.

So I just want to thank—the media has been very fair, I have to say, and they've been—they realize the importance of what we've done here. And it really is, and it's an honor. And it's sort of easy for me, because I know the people. I've known them—I've known your father for a lot longer than I've been in politics, because I did have another life that was a very good life and a very successful life.

But this is something that's really successful, because we're doing it for 325 million people. And the United States now is the hottest country anywhere in the world.

And you see that even with enlistments—military enlistment setting records. Six months ago, you couldn't get anybody to go into the military and so many other things.

So we're just doing great. We have probably, I was saying 2 days ago, 10—we have $10 trillion of investment, and now the $10 trillion is probably $12- or $13-, I think, Scott and——

Secretary Bessent. Yes, sir.

President Trump. ——Howard. I think we're probably looking at $10- to—now we're looking at thirteen—maybe $13 trillion. These are numbers that nobody's ever—even you guys, you've never heard of numbers. [Laughter] This—these are numbers that nobody's ever——

Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed. We're not as big as——

President Trump. ——ever heard of before.

Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed. We're not as big as the United States, Mr. President.

President Trump. No, you're not. You'd better not be. [Laughter]

Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed. But we punch above our weight.

President Trump. You do. [Laughter] He does. He does. That, I agree. That's right.

If you get that big, I'm going to not like you so much anymore. [Laughter]

So I want to thank everybody. The media has been great. And we'll see you guys back in Washington, DC. See, even Peter [Peter Alexander, NBC News] is being nice today.

Have a good time.

The President's Daughter Tiffany A. Trump

Q. How's your daughter, sir? Is she all—is she well? Everything is good?

President Trump. Say it.

Q. You had a chance to FaceTime? You get a chance to talk to your family?

President Trump. Yes, I have. I've spoken to her a couple of times. She's doing great. The baby is great, and we'll be seeing them very soon.

Very nice. Thank you very much for the——

Russia/Ukraine

Q. You mentioned Russia. Can we ask you a quick question on that?

President Trump. Yes.

Q. You said that you didn't expect him to go if you didn't go. The question might be, then, when are you going to do it? Why wait?

President Trump. Well, we're going to——

Q. What's the holdup, so to speak?

President Trump. I think it's time for us to just do it. I said—you know, they all said Putin was going, and Zelenskyy was going. And I said, "If I don't go, I guarantee Putin is not going," and he didn't go. And I understand that.

But we're going to get it—we're going to get it done. We've got to get it done. Five thousand young people are being killed every single week, on average, and we're going to get it done.

[Several reporters began asking questions at once.]

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine

Q. Were you surprised when Zelenskyy didn't show up either, sir? Were you surprised when Zelenskyy didn't show up, either?

President Trump. No, he didn't show up because he heard Putin wasn't going, so——

President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin of Russia/Gaza, Palestinian Territories

Q. When do you think you'll meet President Putin?

President Trump. As soon as we can set it up. I was going to—I would actually leave here and go. I do want to see my beautiful grandson. It's a son. And we'll be doing that.

But I will tell you that the world is a much safer place right now, and I think in two or three weeks, we could have it be a much, much safer place. We're going to handle a couple of situations that you have here. We have—you have some very serious situations.

And we're looking at Gaza, and we got to get that taken care of. A lot of people are starving. A lot of people are—there's a lot of bad things going on.

Okay? Thank you all very much.

And, in particular, I want to thank you, my friend.

Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed. Thank you, sir. Thank you.

President Trump. We're going to get everything straightened out.
