Remarks and an Exchange With Reporters Aboard Air Force One En Route to Stansted, United Kingdom
The President. Hello, everybody. Just have a good trip. We—I said a few words before, as you know, and I think it's going to be a very big thing over there.
Hello, Brian [Brian Glenn, Real America's Voice]. I told him yesterday we took down the tent.
Q. You did.
The President. That tent has been up for 3 years. I didn't know that.
Q. Since 1978.
The President. Since 1970—well, you should have told me sooner, I would have taken it down. But we got it down after you said—in 24 hours, it was down. And they had a lot of permits, but they weren't current. So we got it down.
Enjoy yourselves, right? You're going to have some great pictures today. You're going to—you're going to have the best pictures, Doug [Doug Mills, New York Times]. It's going to be a beautiful event. Everyone is looking forward to it, and we'll just relax and have a good time.
The country is doing well. Stock market is setting all sorts of records. And I think there's never been a time like this.
We had the horrible tragedy, but we're going to have to do something about that. We can't let that happen. So I'll be going to the service on Sunday. Coming back, and then we're going. And I guess a lot of you are coming out with us. Okay?
So enjoy yourselves. Okay? It's great to have you.
Thank you. Thank you.
NOTE: The President spoke at 10:43 a.m. in the press cabin.
