Vice President Biden met today with the opposition leader Bill Shorten in Sydney. The two leaders each expressed appreciation for the enduring tradition of strong bipartisan support for the U.S.-Australia alliance in both countries. They also shared perspectives on a range of regional and global issues, including the importance of upholding a rules-based international order and building a global economy that supports a thriving middle class.
