Readout of the President's Telephone Call to Prime Minister Brown of the United Kingdom

March 23, 2009

Earlier today, The President spoke with Gordon Brown, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. In a call that lasted approximately 25 minutes, the President and the Prime Minister covered three major topics: the G-20 Summit and the international financial crisis, Iran, and Afghanistan-Pakistan. The President and the Prime Minster both agreed that it was an extremely productive conversation, especially in the run up to their bilateral meeting in London and the G-20 Summit. The White House and 10 Downing Street are working to schedule another call before the President departs for London later this month.
