Press Release - Statement by NSC Spokesperson Ned Price on National Security Advisor Susan E. Rice's Meeting with Foreign Minister Yun Byung-Se

National Security Advisor Susan E. Rice met yesterday with Republic of Korea (ROK) Foreign Minister Yun Byung-Se at the White House. Ambassador Rice and Foreign Minister Yun affirmed their strong commitment to the U.S.-ROK alliance and discussed a broad range of bilateral, regional, and global issues. In particular, they discussed our joint efforts to counter the North Korean nuclear and missile threat, as well as our expanding cooperation on important global challenges such as climate change and the Global Health Security Agenda. Ambassador Rice offered condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives during the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) outbreak and underscored the U.S. support for ROK efforts to counter the virus.
