Press Release - President Obama Nominates Ronald W. Sharpe to Serve as U.S. Attorney

WASHINGTON- Today, President Obama nominated Ronald W. Sharpe to serve as a U.S. Attorney for the District of the Virgin Islands.

"I am proud to nominate Ronald W. Sharpe to serve as United States Attorney," said President Obama. "I am confident he will serve the people of the Virgin Islands with distinction."

Ronald Sharpe has been serving as the interim United States Attorney for the District of the Virgin Islands since 2009. From 2008 to 2009, he served as the First Assistant U.S. Attorney in the United States Attorney's Office for the District of the Virgin Islands, and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia from 1995 to 2008. Prior to this, Mr. Sharpe was an Associate at Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, from 1991 to 1995. Sharpe graduated from Tulane University in 1987 and from Stanford Law School in 1991.
