Press Release - President Donald J. Trump Announces the Executive Director of the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities

Johnathan Holifield, of Ohio, will serve as the Executive Director of the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Mr. Holifield co-founded ScaleUp Partners, LLC, which helps communities create a diverse pipeline of talented entrepreneurs and leaders. He previously served as the Vice President of Northeast Ohio Technology Coalition (NorTech) and the President and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Cleveland. As Executive Director, Mr. Holifield will lead the movement to strengthen the capacity of HBCUs to provide a high-quality education. Mr. Holifield received a B.A. in political science and an M.Ed. in educational foundations from the University of Cincinnati.
