The President today announced the appointment of Kristen Lee Silverberg to be Deputy Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy.
Ms. Silverberg recently served as a Senior Advisor to Ambassador L. Paul Bremer in Baghdad, Iraq. Until May 2003, she served as Special Assistant to the President in the White House Office of the Chief of Staff, where she participated in the coordination and development of Administration policy. Before joining the Bush Administration, Ms. Silverberg was a policy advisor on the 2000 presidential campaign in Austin, Texas. She earlier practiced law at Williams and Connelly in Washington, D.C. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Clarence Thomas, United States Supreme Court, and to the Honorable David Sentelle, United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. Ms. Silverberg earned her bachelor's degree from Harvard College and her J.D. from the University of Texas.
