Good morning from the White House where the president has nothing on his public schedule today.

Outside, it is a beautiful day with a crisp blue sky and a gentle breeze out of the northeast.

report 2 -- press secretary Q&A, emergency room care discussion

Press secretary Karoline Leavitt took questions from reporters on the North Lawn driveway for seven minutes following a television appearance.

No real news, but for those following the Medicaid for illegal immigrants issue, an interesting exchange regarding whether emergency room staff should be required to ask for immigration status prior to providing treatment starting at about the 1 min mark. Current law requires hospitals to provide emergency care regardless of ability to pay.

report 3 -- lunch lid

At 1144 the White House press office announced a lunch lid until 1230.

report 4 - dinner lid until 1800.

The White House press office at 1700 announced a dinner lid until 1800.

report 5 — loaded in motorcade

The pool was brought out across the former Rose Garden lawn and loaded into the press vans at 1825.

We are holding to enter the president's motorcade.

report 6 — motorcade rolling

The president's motorcade was underway at 1854.

report 7 — arrival at Naval Observatory

The president's motorcade pulled into the gates at the Naval Observatory, the official residence of the vice president, at 1901, following an uneventful drive down the closed off roads.

The president and first lady are having dinner VP Vance and the second lady.

report 8 — back in vans

The pool has loaded back into the vans, parked just across the driveway from the residence.

The presidential limos are parked next to the building. Pool has not seen the president save for a glimpse through the Oval Office window hours ago.

report 9 — motorcade moving

At 2039 the president's motorcade was underway.

report 10 — return to WH

The motorcade was back on the South Lawn Driveway at 2047.

The press vans stopped a considerable distance from the body of the motorcade because of the ballroom construction.

So pool cannot describe the president's exit from his limousine.

report 11 — lid

The WH press office announced a lid for the night at 2052.
