Executive Order 8082—Authorizing the Appointment of Mrs. Esther H. Soter to a Classified Position in the Federal Trade Commission Without Regard to the Civil Service Rules

By virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me by the provisions of paragraph Eighth, subdivision SECOND, section 2 of the Civil Service Act (22 Stat. 403, 404), it is hereby ordered that Mrs. Esther H. Soter may be appointed to an appropriate classified position in the Federal Trade Commission without compliance with the requirements of the civil service rules.

Mrs. Soter is the widow of George F. Soter, a former employee of the Federal Trade Commission who died on March 22, 1938, leaving his widow and three children without adequate means of continued support.

This order is recommended by the Federal Trade Commission.
