Executive Order 6603-A—Authorization of Committee on Naval Affairs of the House of Representatives to Inspect Tax Returns

February 15, 1934

By virtue of the authority vested in me by section 257 (a) of the Revenue Act of 1926 (ch. 27, 44 Stat. 9, 51), section 55 of the Revenue Act of 1928 (ch. 852, 45 Stat. 791, 809), and section 55 of the Revenue Act of 1932 (ch. 209, 47 Stat. 169, 189), it is hereby ordered that the tax returns of all companies or corporations manufacturing or selling airplanes, airplane engines, motors, and other parts and accessories and doing business with the Navy Department since 1921, including their holding or affiliated companies and subsidiaries, a list of which companies or corporations shall be furnished by the Chairman of the Committee on Naval Affairs of the House of Representatives to the Secretary of the Treasury, shall be open to inspection by the said Committee or any subcommittee thereof, such inspection to be in accordance and upon compliance with rules and regulations which have been or may be prescribed by the Secretary of the Treasury and approved by the President.
