To the Senate of the United States:

I transmit herewith a report from the Secretary of State, with accompanying documents,* in compliance with the resolution of the Senate of the 12th ultimo.

*Correspondence relative to the arrest and detention at Bremen of Conrad Schmidt, and arrest and maltreatment at Heidelberg of E. T. Dana, W. B. Dingle, and David Ramsay, all citizens of the United States; correspondence with the King of Prussia relative to religious toleration.
