Gingrich Campaign Press Release - Gingrich Says Frank-Dodd Reforms Should Go--NHPR

Speaking at an event aimed at small business, Gingrich took a populist stance. He called for an audit of the Federal Reserve, saying the public has the right to know where billions of dollars went. He assailed the biggest banks and promoted community banks that would provide more personal attention.

He criticized the Frank Dodd act on many fronts, including its impact on housing. " It establishes a mandatory 20% down payment to buy a house," he said. "So at a time when housing prices have dropped worse than the Great Depression, we're now going to have a law that guarantees there's no housing market for a generation?"
