Boston, MA – Today, Governor Mitt Romney announced the Romney for President Illinois Delegate and Alternate Slate that will represent him as delegate candidates at the primary election on February 5, 2008.

"I am proud to have the support of so many Republican Leaders from across Illinois," said Governor Romney. "This announcement is proof that my message of bringing fiscal responsibility, tax relief, secure borders, a strong national defense, and high ethical standards to Washington is resonating with voters across the state."

"It's clear that from this impressive list of supporters to his Illinois Republican Straw Poll victory in August, Governor Romney has tremendous support from Illinois Republicans," said Illinois for Romney State Chairman, State Senator Dan Rutherford. "On the issues most important to the American people, Governor Romney has laid out a clear vision to build a stronger America.
