Austin, TX - United States Senator Barack Obama issued the following statement today after learning of the death of the police officer guarding Senator Clinton's motorcade in Dallas:

"I was deeply saddened to hear about this tragic accident, and my thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the fallen police officer, Victor Lozada-Tiada.
