To the Senate:

In response to the resolution of the Senate dated May 25, 1909, requesting the President, if not incompatible in his judgment with the public interest, to transmit to the Senate the statement of the German Government, or its officers, in relation to the wages paid to German workmen, for the use of the Senate in connection with its consideration of the pending tariff bill, I transmit herewith a letter from the Secretary of State stating that all the information on this subject which has been received from the German Government has been transmitted by the Department of State to the Committee on Finance of the Senate for use in the consideration of the pending tariff bill.
