Proclamation 3458—Delaying the Effective Dates of Proclamation No. 3454 and Proclamation No. 3455 of March 19, 1962

Whereas, pursuant to section 350(a) of the Tariff Act of 1930, as amended (19 U.S.C. 1351(x)), and section 7(c) of the Trade Agreements Extension Act of 1951, as amended (19 U.S.C. 1364(c)), there were issued on March 19, 1962, Proclamation No. 3454, modifying the trade agreement concession and adjusting the duty on certain machine-woven pile floor coverings, and. Proclamation No. 3455, modifying the trade agreement concessions and adjusting duties on cylinder, crown, and sheet glass; and

Whereas I determine that it is desirable and appropriate to delay the effective dates of such Proclamations of March 19, 1962:

Now, Therefore, I, John F. Kennedy, President of the United States of America, acting under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and statutes of the United States, including section 350 of the Tariff Act of 1930, as amended (19 U.S.C. 1351), and section 7 of the Trade Agreements Extension Act of 1951, as amended (19 U.S.C. 1364), do proclaim that Proclamation No. 3454 and Proclamation No. 3455 of March 19, 1962 are each modified by deleting therefrom the effective date of "April 18, 1962" and by inserting in place thereof "June 17, 1962."
