LBJ APPOINTS SARGENT SHRIVER TO HEAD WAR ON POVERTY

The President has appointed Kennedy in-law Sargent Shriver head of the Office of Economic Opportunity. He is to coordinate the Job Corps, VISTA, Head Start and other organizations that have been put together by the President to fight in the "national war on poverty."
