BLACK LEADER MALCOM X ASSASSINATED

Malcolm X, who broke with the Black Muslims last year, was shot dead at Harlem's Audubon Ballroom as he addressed a Sunday afternoon audience on the need for blacks and whites to coexist peacefully.
