Pool taken White and Gold Room at about 1125. Trump and Xi both spoke briefly about cooperation "We have made tremendous progress in our relationship with China" Trump said.

He also said "I think truly progress has been made." No specifics mentioned. He said "an outstanding" relationship had developed.

He said he expected additional progress in the future "and lots of very potentially bad problems will be going away."

He ignored shouted questions about potential action in North Korea.

Pres Xi spoke in Chinese. Efforting translation. When he finished, Trump said "I agree 100%, Mr. President."

The meeting was at a long table with about two dozen people. Americans on left and Chinese in right. Among Americans: Jared Kushner, Steve Mnuchin, Rex Tillerson, Gary Cohn, James Mattis, Stephen Bannon, Reince Priebus, Dina Powell. Sean Spicer standing to the side.

At the end of the room stood three flags from each country. Three chandeliers were above.

Americans wore headphones for translation purposes.

One note on earlier spicer tweet photo: Spicer says it was edited to block out documents. He said DNI and other people were in situation room w VP Pence via teleconference.
