Pool report #2/Cabinet room with Egypt president
Todd Gillman • Dallas Morning News
April 3, 2017: 12:48 PM

The pool was hastily assembled for a brief photo spray in the Cabinet Room that had been billed as closed press

Trump sat in the middle on the far side, flanked by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on his right and Defense Secretary James Mattis on his left. Among the others seated on US side of the table were Steve Bannon, Dina Powell, KT McFarland. There were others.

Trump: "We're having great discussions with representatives of Egypt and with the president. We have many things in common. We have [a few things?] that we don't agree on. .. This is going to be a very productive day and it's a great honor."

Sisi spoke briefly in Arabic but this was not translated for the pool. I'll pass along the foreign pool report on that from Nadia Bilbassy of Alarabiya.

One more Sisi quote from the Oval spray: "You will find me supporting you very strongly and very earnestly in finding a solution to the problem of the century." It was unclear if he was talking about terrorism or the Israel-Palestinian conflict, though Trump's response was that "we will fight terrorism and other things."

Also, in the Oval spray pool report, the reference to "al-Sisi" in the Trump quote was meant to reflect the president's pronunciation. And besides the presidents there were no major officials spotted.
