President Trump emerged from the Oval Office and walked across the South Lawn to Marine One.

The president smiled, waved and gave a fist-pump to the assembled news media as he walked across the South Lawn. He also waved several times to White House staff gathered to watch the departure.

The president saluted the Marine attendant and boarded Marine One at 5:12 p.m.

The president was followed by White House chief political strategist Stephen K. Bannon, White House senior advisor Stephen Miller, White House social media director Dan Scavino and White House operations director Keith Schiller.

Marine One departed for Joint Base Andrews en route to Louisville.
