Vice President Pence swore in South Carolina Rep. Mick Mulvaney as the new director of the Office of Management and Budget in the Vice President's Ceremonial Office in front of his mother who asked the pool for a photo because Mulvaney's father is home sick with the flu and couldn't attend.

Pence said that Mulvaney will be a "happy warrior" on behalf of fiscal responsibility and pointed to fellow South Carolinians Sen. Lindsey Graham and Sen. Tim Scott, who sat in the audience of about 20 people who watched the swearing in. Sen. Mike Enzi, Sen. Ron Johnson, Sen. Tom Cotton, Rep. Mark Meadows, and Rep. Justin Amash were also among the group.

Approximately 20 others watched towards the back of the room.
