WH intown pool 2/3 report # 3
Tierney Sneed • Talking Points Memo
February 3, 2017: 01:38 PM

Pool was escorted to Oval Office at 1:18 for signing ceremony for executive orders on financial regulations. One of the orders was on the fiduciary rule and the other was on the "core principles" to guide Treasury Department on financial regulations.

POTUS was joined by Rep. Ann Wagner (R-MO), VPOTUS, Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, WH economic advisor Gary Cohn, among others.

"Today we are signing core principles for regulating the United States financial system," POTUS said.

"What we're doing is we are returning to the American people, low- and middle- income investors, and retirees, their control of their own retirement savings, this is about main street and its been a labor of love for me for over 4 years as chairman..this has been a big, a big moment for Americans," Wagner said, and POTUS thanked her.

A member of pool attempted to ask a question about Iran.

"They're not behaving," POTUS said, and the pool was escorted out of the Oval at 1:20.
