Pool report #1
Michael Schmidt • The New York Times
January 28, 2017: 03:44 PM

At 11:02 a.m., the pool was brought back to the colonnade to see POTUS speaking on the phone with German Chancellor Merkel. Mr. Trump, wearing a suit and one of his signature blue ties, held the phone in his left hand as he spoke. Priebus and Bannon stood off to the side, and Spicer stood by himself on the other side of the room. A man -- whose face we could not see but appeared to be Flynn -- sat in a chair next to the desk. The pool was allowed to observe POTUS for about two minutes before being sent back to the press room.
