WH Pool Report #1
S.V. Dáte • The Huffington Post
February 27, 2017: 10:20 AM

Good morning,

President Trump delivered 21 minutes of remarks to the assembled governors in the State Dining Room of the White House. He entered the room at 0943 and pool was ushered out at 1004 as question and answer session began.

More details to come, but Trump partially read from prepared test and partially riffed on topics that will likely be included in his address to Congress tomorrow night.

Among them:

Streamlining regulations and speeding up approval process for new projects

Big defense spending increase

Slashing spending in other areas

Getting violent criminals out of the country

Reducing taxes, and making taxes related to imports and exports more fair

Infrastructure spending

Repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act.

There is a second pooled event to start momentarily. I will try to upload the audio into dropbox and provide a link if I can before pool is called away.

Trump was wearing a navy suit and bright red tie and spoke from a lectern beneath a portrait of Abraham Lincoln.

The governors were seated at 8 round tables, with 6-7 governors at each, with a few Cabinet members interspersed among them.

I will also upload photos ASAP.
