Travel Pool 5: Arrival addendum
Mike Memoli • Los Angeles Times
May 23, 2017: 10:23 AM

The pool was not able to witness an arrival ceremony to welcome POTUS but there was pre-set TV coverage. Some notes though:

Pool passed through the cream-colored stone palace's courtyard, decorated with a red carpet as an honor guard dressed in ivy green was now milling about after the ceremony. An entry plaza featured seven alternating U.S. and Palestinian flags in a center grass island surrounded by the driveway.

The Beast was positioned at the foot of an entry archway topped by a larger Palestinian flag.

One other note of interest: before entering the Palace pool was advised by staff to take off any credentials that displayed the Israeli flag.
