Travel Pool Report No. 19: Trump departs for Taormina
Philip Rucker • The Washington Post
May 25, 2017: 11:26 PM

President Trump exited Air Force One with Melania Trump, holding hands as they made their way down the stairs. The first couple then personally greeted a number of officials, whose names and titles follow.

The Trumps made their way to Marine One and climbed into the helicopter's cabin. Marine One lifted off at 11:20 p.m. The president is staying at a hotel in Taormina. Your pool did not follow him to his RON. We loaded into buses and vans for the drive to our respective hotels, as are most White House staffers.

Both Air Force One 747s were parked on the tarmac near each other, close to twin 747s painted in Japanese livery, which your pooler safely assumes is Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's mode of transportation to the G7 summit.

The greeters, according to guidance provides by the White House:

-Ambassador Riccardo Guarigilia, chief of protocol ceremonial office at the Italian Ministry
-Charge d'Affaires Kelly Degnan, U.S. Mission to Italy Rome
-Colonel Federico Fedele, commanding officer of Italian Air Force Base
-Commander Captain Brent Trickel and Mrs. Marla Trickel, U.S. Naval Air Station Sigonella
-Commander Charles McKinney II and Mrs. Daniela McKinney, executive officer, U.S. Naval Air Station Sigonella
-Dr. Giuseppe Castaldo, prefect of Siracusa
