Swearing in of U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer.

Ceremony started at 3:40 p.m. in the stunning Indian Treaty Room, where about 50 guests were seated before a podium.

Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) introduced Vice President Pence, who made remarks then administered the oath at 3:47 p.m.

Notable attendees include Sen. Bob Dole, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, Peter Navarro and Kellyanne Conway.

Following the oath, Lighthizer spoke for about two minutes, then sat at a small desk and signed his commission document. Dole stood beside him, along with Pence, Lighthizer's two children and Roberts.

Pool was escorted out at 3:53 p.m.
