First Lady Melania Trump presided over a ribbon cutting ceremony to open the Bunny Mellon Healing Garden at Children's National Health Center Friday. Located on the 3rd floor roof, the garden will be a place where, The First Lady said, patients and their families can enjoy "fresh air and beautiful views."

She arrived around 3:10 and left about 3:40 and spoke for 3 minutes. She wore a whites dress and light green cardigan.

The project is dedicated to First Ladies of the United States who have a long tradition of supporting Children's National. Mellon, who died three years ago at the age of 103, had a special love for gardening, hence her role in redesigning the White House Rose Garden and Jacqueline Kennedy Garden on White House grounds.

Staff tell me plants include Queen Anne's Lace, petunias, daisies, sage and bamboo.

Outpatient Noah Haas, 6, hugged Mrs. Trump after presenting her with a piece of art made by children.

Sally Quinn attended.
