VPOTUS pool report 2 - News and Pago Pago
Andrew Beatty • Agence France-Presse
April 23, 2017: 04:20 PM

Some news... per an aide to the Vice President is cutting short his stay in Hawaii by one night.

Asked why, the aide cited the amount of issues on deck in Washington this week -- between health care, the continuing resolution and tax reform.

That means the VP will no longer visit the USS Arizona memorial and will stay in Hawaii just long enough for some sleep tonight and to get briefed by Admiral Harris at PACOM tomorrow before heading back.

He said they also didn't want to shutdown the Arizona memorial.

The VP will now be back at work in Washington on Tuesday.

Now, back to scheduled programming.

After five-and-bit-hour flight that took us north east from Sydney -- over the turquoise atolls of the outlying Fijian Islands and the date line -- Air Force Two landed in Pago Pago, American Samoa.

The time is 16:08 on Sunday, again.

More details on the stop to come.
