VPOTUS pool report 5 - opposition leader
Andrew Beatty • Agence France-Presse
April 22, 2017: 03:21 PM

Shortly after 15:00 you pool was ushered into a room where VPOTUS was already meeting the leader of the Australian opposition leader Bill Shorten.

Through an open mic Shorten could be overheard congratulating VPOTUS on the election win, and stating that there was consensus across Australian parties about the need to have good relations with the United States.

As the Australian Ambassador to the US tried to get the mic cut, Shorten said he'd like to hear VPOTUS views on various issues, naming North Korea specifically.

Your pool was ushered out of the room.
