VPOTUS pool report 6 - business round table
Andrew Beatty • Agence France-Presse
April 22, 2017: 04:04 PM

At 15:50 your pool was brought back into the same meeting room in the InterContinental hotel as the VPOTUS meeting with the leader of the opposition.

This time tables were arranged in a horseshoe, with around a dozen business representatives - including Macquarie, Boeing Australia, ConocoPhillips, Northrop Grumman, Austal, Westfield, GE -- as well as the minister for industry and the minister for trade.

VPOTUS said his visit so far had been "productive and meaningful". Then he said "I appreciate you coming out on a Saturday afternoon."

VPOTUS reprised his praise for the US-Australia FTA. He said he wanted to hear from them about opportunities for trade and where things could be improved.

At around 16:00 the pool was ushered out. VPOTUS is due to give remarks to a broader business gathering shortly, that event is open press.
