VPOTUS pool report 7 - business speech + lid
Andrew Beatty • Agence France-Presse
April 22, 2017: 05:03 PM

VPOTUS began his speech with a "g'day."

He ran though now familiar remarks from this morning, saying "Australia is and always will be one of America's closest allies and truest friends."

VPOTUS touched on military intelligence cooperation, North Korea and the South China Sea.

He said "thank you" to all the businesses leaders in the room, "for you for your tireless work to bring Australia and the United States closer together."

VPOTUS noted that his brother spent five years working for Cummins in Australia.

The Vice President also said the two economies were "intertwined in a win-win relationship."

He again described the FTA with Australia as a "case study in success."

He then touched on tax reform saying it will make the US economy even stronger still.

Under president Trump, he said, "the era of over-taxation and over-regulation is over."

At 16:59 VPOTUS wrapped the speech and we have a lid.
