Travel Pool 7: Marine One / note on unannounced POTUS event today in FL
Michael Memoli • Los Angeles Times
February 20, 2017: 06:22 PM

POTUS strode alone down the steps of Air Force One at 6:15 pm, and saluted the military officers at the base of the stairs before walking to Marine One.

Shortly after, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner and their children filed down but walked to vans.

Marine One was in the air at 6:22 pm.

Some other notes:

-- While your pooler was filing down the rear stairs of Air Force One I encountered newly minted NSA H.R. McMaster. I asked if he could share when the president formally asked him to accept the position and he politely declined to answer that or other questions, saying he would not be commenting for a little while.

-- In response to pool questions after seeing photos on social media, WH confirmed that POTUS today dropped by a luncheon fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago for a charity for people with special needs. "He stopped by to say hello and thank them for the great work that they do," Sarah Huckabee Sanders said. She said she would get additional details including the name of the charity involved, adding that it was a regular event.

With that, handing off to in town pool.
