Travel Pool 1: Oval Spray
Michael Memoli • Los Angeles Times
March 14, 2017: 12:51 PM

No news.

At 12:41 pm pool entered the Oval Office where POTUS was seated alongside Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Crown Prince and Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

As pool collected, we awaited what we expected might be a statement but the only comment POTUS made was in passing to the deputy crown prince, referring to the pool: "Very nice people." It sounded like it could have been sarcastic.

Staff then announced it was time for pool to leave, which triggered some shouted questions about the CBO report. The attempt prompted a stern "let's roll" from Steve Bannon, who was standing next to your pooler. No response from POTUS was audible to pooler.

Part of U.S. delegation seated on couch: VP Pence, Jared Kushner, NSA McMaster. Priebus and Scavino stood against far wall.

Pool originally had staged in Blue Room for spray in State Dining Room before a hurried movement to the Oval. We have returned to preset in State Dining Room now.

More to come.
