VPOTUS travel pool report 4 - South Korea arrival
Andrew Beatty • Agence France-Presse
April 16, 2017: 04:24 PM

AF2 touched down at Osan Air Base in South Korea at 15:24 local time after a long and rather eventful journey across Alaska, the northern Pacific and the Sea of Japan.

An hour out of Anchorage, your travel pool was informed by aides to the Vice President about open source reports that North Korea had conducted a missile test.

There was a gaggle just before landing on the same topic, which has been sent out in a separate pool report.

On the ground at Osan the Vice President disembarked the aircraft, he was met by the US charge d'affaires Marc Knapper and four star General Vincent Brooks, who commands US forces Korea, and the ROK first vice foreign minister.

From there VPOTUS jumped on one of the helos that carried him and entourage to an LZ near the National Cemetery, where VPOTUS and second lady will place a wreath near the memorial tower.

To note - on the JBA-Anchorage leg of the flight, the Vice President and second lady came back briefly to speak to the pool off the record.
