VPOTUS pool report 4 - hotel to PM's residence
Andrew Beatty • Agence France-Presse
April 17, 2017: 01:58 PM

After a brief stop at the hotel, the motorcade was back on the road headed for the PMs residence at 13:17 local.

Around 15 minutes later we arrived at the beautiful wooden building, set in ornate gardens, where the Vice President was greeted in the rain by acting president Hwang Kyo-ahn.

He complimented the Pence daughters, who were also present.

The politicians then entered a tableless meeting room with lightly coloured wooden carved beams and paper screens. They took up two seats at the back of the room in front of South Korean and US flags. The delegations were positioned perpendicular in two lines facing each other.

VPOTUS shook hands with each member of the South Korean delegation, and then introduced his own: chief of staff Josh Pitcock, national security advisor Andrea Thompson, the US charge d'affaires Marc Knapper and General Brooks.

The pool was ushered in and out before we could hear anything and is now holding in vans as they have a working lunch.
